Our Team

The AWN Squires team is an active mix of the young and mature and all ages.

Terry Pyne has been a highly successful agent in the region for over 30 years, and has been at the heart and soul of the previous C.L. Squires Company. He has seen the highs and lows of the livestock and property industry and has a wealth of knowledge to share as both an agent and a producer. Terry can often be found in the laneways on sale day, keeping a watchful eye on the AWN Squires selling team in action.

Tom Oakes and Robbie Bloch both joined the industry working for other companies, but since teaming up at AWN Squires ten years ago have never looked back. Both are winners of the ALPA John Weekes Memorial NSW Young Auctioneers Competition at the Sydney Royal Easter show in 2003 and 2008, respectively. They have both moulded their business on the back of relationships formed since joining the company and from previous positions. Both are Accredited Level 1 Professional AuctionsPlus assessors for sheep and cattle and use the national online selling platform weekly. They both admit to having different ways in agency but agree that the differences only enhance the breadth of AWN Squires well-known ability to satisfy clients selling needs and gain top prices and/or find the best-placed stock to fill clients paddocks for successful breeding or trading.

Phil Hurford has been involved in the livestock industry, particularly the sheep industry, for over 30 years. He ran shearing teams throughout northern NSW before becoming an agent, and rapidly became recognised as one of the region's premier sheep and lamb agents. He provides expertise in the sheep market and management that is rarely seen in the industry. Phil is an accredited AuctionsPlus sheep and cattle assessor.

Jillian Oakenfull and Melissa Williams Camera shy, but the roses among the thorns at AWN Squires. Jilli and Mish hold down the main camp being the office at 3/31 Byron Street, Inverell. Plenty of parking outside and plenty of quiet capability inside. Its always a pleasure to visit the AWN Squires office, where efficiency and workload go hand in hand, processing the myriad of sales from our weekly cattle and sheep sales, AuctionsPlus weekly throughput, Store and Stud sales and Real Estate Listings. Jillian and Melissa will answer any queries in any of these fields, which probably makes them the glue that holds a successful team such as AWN Squires together.
